A focus on my journey from teaching at Durrington High school to SZPAB. In England I scaffolded writing tasks and felt I was doing enough. After two years at SZPAB, I now realise I failed the bottom end who scraped by with 4’s and 5’s. I could have scaffolded more and got much better results for those students. I will talk about the nature of scaffolding, how to do it well, what to avoid and how it can transform your classroom outcomes (especially for Emirati boys.)
